Professor Russell Foster, Nuffield Department of Clinical Neuroscience, University of Oxford, said: “It’s really important not to sacrifice sleep for revision.

“A good night’s sleep can process information in the brain while you’re asleep and actually come up with new solutions to complex problems,” he said.

“Also, sleep will help you remember memories. So, sure, I know there are review needs and all that, but still protect your sleep. It will help you productive the next day,” he added.
